Unwelcome Visitors
What will you do when those things inevitable come that flip your world upside down?
Loss is to be expected and grief is sure to follow. They’re not exactly the type of guests we’d like to invite into our homes but it’s better to have the spare room prepared for their rarely scheduled arrival than to delay their setting in while we rush about trying to make things more comfortable.
It’s hard to make them leave. Pushing them out only forces them to climb back in through the windows or the secret back door we thought nobody knew about…
It’s hard to see them as friends. Helpers that come right on time when we are weakest to show us the full strength of the love we hold so dearly. The scare, the gift, will prove our pain and keep the promise that we can heal.
These guests will leave exactly when they should but to entice their departure, invite them out on long and gentle walks to remind them of how beautiful the world is outside of your space.
