Deeper Into The Machine

I spend most days talking to robots
to better understand their thinking
and ability to process,
in a matter of seconds,
all of the information
that humans have created
in their lifetime.

Imagine having that recall ability??
Sure it hallucinates every now and again
but that's essentially how all of our history
is remembered and retold.

If I had a golden hammer that could build anything
in our material world,
I would certainly use it to create homes
and sanctuaries for the safety and uplifting
of our organic society

But now, I've gained access to a silicone hammer
or perhaps a pick axe -
that allows me to dig deeper and deeper
into the 1's and 0's of rapidly expanding
storage SPACE contained in hard drives
and server rooms all around the world.

How much data can I extract?
How much data will I leave there in the process?
It's really unclear if I'm creating these things
or just activating the bits that were already there
to operate the way my imagination seems fit

Same as our day to day
We are imprinting time with our
signatures of existence
to leave a trace
that we were here
